Summary

This is an overview of the Forward Party's policy covering areas such as housing, banking, industry, workers' rights, public services, energy, environment, immigration, justice, civil liberties, foreign policy, defence, trade, and democracy:

• Housing that is for living, not for investing. Anti-hoarding rules (including an end to corporate and investor ownership), increasing supply, and affordable mortgages for people.

• Banking that keeps your money safe from crisis and lends to those building the country, not those speculating.

• Real growth in manufacturing, not moving the same money around. Growth that is distributed across regions based on what they're good at and not concentrated in London. Putting ownership and control of workplaces in workers' hands. Investment in making essentials abundant in our country: energy, food, housing, and critical technologies. Making education and qualification a matter of merit, not ability to pay.

• Well-funded, efficient public services that cover the essentials people need comprehensively. An end to restrictions on workers organising for better conditions.

• Energy that is priced correctly (making it cheaper for the consumer), sovereign (ending reliance on energy imports), and sustainable. Agricultural innovation to reduce reliance on food imports and strengthen our food security. An environment that is biodiverse with re-introduced native species and tackling industrial and personal abuse of animals.

• Immigration that is controlled, high-skilled, and a net positive on the economy. A safe, controlled, working asylum system that ends unsafe boat crossings and works for British people and refugees at risk. An end to the expansion of state power, including the oppression of protests and speech. Investment in the justice system to process cases in a more effective and timely manner.

• Foreign policy that ensures Britain is the world leader in peace and prosperity, refusing to stand idle allowing exploitation and resource extraction. Defence focused on defending our own land effectively, not selling weapons to foreign countries, conflicts, and genocides. Britain should defend itself, not act as world police. Trade policy that is pragmatic and based on minimising trade barriers with our biggest trading partners.​

• True democracy with proportional representation, zero private money in politics, anti-entrenchment policies for parties, media outlets that are transparent about their ownership, media editors that are transparent about their registered interests, and representatives that are recallable at any time.

Our final destination is a society without scarcity. A society where we have built abundant productivity across every metric: energy, water, food, housing, critical technology, and culture. A society owned by the people at the lowest possible level. Not shareholders. Not the state. A society where we don't have to sell our limited lifetimes for money. A society where we co-operate, rather than compete to death.
